If you’ve been using WaiverForever’s SMS features, you might have noticed that the number of SMS messages sent doesn’t always match the number of waivers submitted. This is a common question we get from users, and there are a couple of reasons why this happens. Let’s break it down.
- SMS Is Used for More Than Just Auto SMS
Auto SMS is an important part of our SMS feature, but it’s not the only way SMS messages are sent in WaiverForever. Here are the other ways SMS can be used:
- Request Sign via SMS: Send waiver requests directly to your customers via SMS, allowing them to review and sign the document.
- Self Notifications: Set up SMS alerts for yourself or your team to stay informed about waiver submissions or updates.
- Signer Verification: Enable the Signer Verification feature to send an SMS code to verify your customer’s identity before they submit the waiver.
Because SMS covers multiple functions, the total number of SMS messages sent may exceed the number of waivers submitted.
- Auto SMS Only Sends After Approval
Here’s another key point: Auto SMS messages are only sent when a waiver is approved, not when it’s submitted. So:
- Every waiver submission is counted toward your waiver usage.
- Auto SMS notifications, however, only go out after you review and approve the waiver.
This means that if you have waivers waiting for approval or waivers that don’t require approval, they won’t trigger an Auto SMS.
